Over the past seven years, Sondra has been so much more than a tutor for my two son and daughter, who was diagnosed with dyslexia over seven years ago in second grade. She has been our mentor, our support, and our guide.

Our daughter was struggling in math. We were lucky to have Sondra work with her one on one for 2 years . We saw tremendous growth in our daughter's math stills and her confidence level. Sondra is amazing with kids and has wonderful methods to help them learn. We highly recommended her! - From Sondra: I began work with this lovely young lady several years ago when she was in third grade and mortified by math. Working with her was incredibly rewarding because it reiterated that using modified instruction, visual manipulatives and taking notes math can be paramount!

Sondra tutored both of my daughters when they were in elementary school. My younger daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia. She struggled with reading and spelling. Sondra worked with her, making it interesting and fun to the point where my daughter begin to enjoy reading. There was regular easy homework, but she did it and it made all the difference! Now my daughter is in honors English in middle school. Sondra taught her to believe in herself again.
My oldest daughter had difficulty with math and Sondra made it easy and fun for her. She was able to succeed in her math class and build her self confidence.

Sondra Tutela has worked with both my boys (ages 8 and 11) for the past year. She is outstanding! Sondra is able to connect with the boys on what interests them and uses that as a launching pad to teach them. She brings enthusiasm and creativity to each meeting. We love her so much I recommended her to my sister who now uses her as well.

Sondra is an absolute delight and has been an invaluable tutor to our two children, especially during the current pandemic. She provides extra instructional support in math and literacy using innovative methods and individualized plans. A veteran teacher, she speaks kids' language and makes learning exciting and fun. Our kids always look forward to time spent with her and leave their sessions full with wild curiously and a passion for learning. We have been with her for five years.

When my daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia we sought Sondra out based on work with our friends' kids with the same situation. She not only helps my daughter thrive at reading, but my daughter enjoys it to the point where we can’t keep up on the books she is reading. Sondra is not only a wonderful tutor, she has been an amazing emotional and social advocate for her as well. My daughter would do tutoring on weekends if we let her.

Since moving to the States 7 years ago from Ireland, Sondra has been an integral part of our kids lives and education. We originally needed her help to settle the boys into the American school system but it quickly became apparent that her willingness to get onto the kids levels and have fun learning with them without it being all about schoolwork was exactly what we needed - and still do! I would have no hesitation in recommending Sondra for a student of any age. She is a wonderful teacher with a unique way of connecting with kids so that they don’t even realize they are being tutored!

My family loves Sondra! Our three boys have been working with her for the past few years and Sondra has made a significant difference in their academic lives working with them on both literacy and math. Our first grader was a year behind and Sondra was instrumental in his success in reading and bringing him to grade level. He is now reading beyond grade level and we are forever grateful to her for getting him there. Sondra has mastered the art of making learning exciting, fun and engaging while being professional and commanding respect from her students at the same time. She goes above and beyond getting to know her students and structures sessions around their interests. Sondra has been an invaluable tutor to our family and we highly recommend her services.
